Salt Lake City, Utah — HCA Healthcare’s Mountain Division today announced the results of its annual We Show Up® for Our Communities Month of Service initiative. In alignment with National Volunteer Month, colleagues across Utah, Idaho and Alaska donated their time and talents to support the health and well-being of the communities they serve.

“Being an anchor institution means showing up for our communities in ways that extend beyond healthcare,” said Evan Ray, president of HCA Healthcare’s Mountain Division. “Throughout this Month of Service, watching our colleagues live out that commitment through service and volunteerism is something I’m incredibly proud of.”

During the month of April, more than 431 Mountain Division colleagues volunteered over 1,094 hours with 110 nonprofit organizations.

Several volunteer activations throughout the month highlighted how HCA Healthcare’s national partnerships can create meaningful local impact. In Salt Lake City, Oncology Nurse Navigators from across the Utah network partnered with the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge to serve dinner to patients and caregivers traveling for treatment. Additionally, several MountainStar Healthcare facilities partnered with Girl Scouts of Utah during their statewide Day of Service, hosting events where more than 140 Girl Scouts assembled over 1,300 snack kits to help address food insecurity. These are just two examples of how HCA Healthcare’s national partnerships are helping build healthier tomorrows at the local level.

HCA Mountain Division colleagues also partnered with local organizations previously supported through the HCA Healthcare Foundation, including Wasatch Community Gardens, Neighborhood House and the Granite Education Foundation. Continuing to invest in these relationships helps strengthen long-term community collaboration and shared efforts to improve community well-being.

Across the nation, HCA Healthcare’s We Show Up for Our Communities initiative resulted in:

  • 1,866 nonprofits supported across the nation
  • 9,790 colleagues who volunteered to meet local needs
  • More than 41,800 hours dedicated to volunteering in the communities HCA Healthcare serves

In total for 2025, HCA Healthcare colleagues volunteered over 350,000 hours, and over 10,000 charitable organizations were supported through donations and volunteering across the country. Additionally, more than 1,300 colleagues served on a nonprofit board.
