Metastatic cancers
Our doctors are experienced in treating metastatic conditions, which occur when cancer spreads from its original site to another area of the body.
When the cancer cells spread, a process known as metastasis, they do not change into a different type of cancer cell. For example, lung cancer that spreads to the brain is called metastatic lung cancer, not brain cancer. All types of cancer have the potential to metastasize. Cancer cells can spread through different channels, such as lymph nodes or blood vessels.
Comprehensive cancer treatment options
We offer a range of advanced cancer treatment options tailored to meet your specific needs.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is a type of infusion therapy that uses medications to kill or slow the growth of cancer cells. In some cases, a combination of chemotherapy medication may be used to enhance effectiveness.
Chemotherapy can be administered through various ways, including:
- Oral chemotherapy: Medication taken by mouth.
- Intramuscular chemotherapy: Given through the muscles.
- Intravenous chemotherapy: Administered through veins.
- Intrathecal chemotherapy: Delivered through the spinal canal.
Radiation therapy
Radiation therapy uses high-energy X-rays to target cancer, aiming to stop or slow tumor growth. In many cases, it may destroy the tumor.
Surgery
Surgery is a highly effective option of cancer treatment. It may be recommended before you begin radiation or chemotherapy to remove as much of the tumor as possible, or after therapy has reduced the tumor’s size.
