The hospital I've always gone to

When Jim Morris wrecked on his dirt bike two hours from home, his only thought was to get to Brigham City Community Hospital.

Imagine 230 pounds of pressure hitting you at 30 MPH. That's what happened when Jim Morris crashed his dirt bike, landing with his arm jabbing into his rib cage.

Jim and some of his buddies were in Yost in the northwest corner of the state, and lucky for him, some of the them are EMTs. "They checked me out and told me I needed to get to the hospital," Jim says.

So Jim got in his truck and made the nearly two-hour drive to Brigham City Community Hospital. "The thought didn't cross my mind to go anywhere else. I'm comfortable there. It's the hospital I've always gone to," Jim says.

Jim says when we arrived at the emergency room, the registration clerk could tell he was in a bad state. "I've had experiences in other ERs where they tell me to go sit in a corner and they'll get to me. But at Brigham City Community Hospital, a nurse came and got me in less than 10 minutes."

Jim interacted with the doctor on shift, two nurses, and a radiologist. The diagnosis? Eight fractured ribs.

Despite the ordeal, Jim is healing up nicely and plans to get back on his dirt bike soon. "This isn't my first accident, and it's not going to keep me down."

Jim wants everyone to know something: "Every single person I interfaced with at the hospital was extremely helpful. I've had really bad experiences in emergency rooms, but my experience at Brigham City Community Hospital was extraordinary. It's not that just one person was super good — they were all amazing. Every single one of them."
