When you choose us for your birth experience, you gain access to the maternity services and amenities of our full-service hospitals. We provide eight hospital-based labor and delivery centers across the Wasatch Front, making it easy to find expert care close to home. We accept most insurance plans including Medicaid.

Maternity classes

We believe education is a key factor in preparing you for labor and delivery, and we are here to help you approach the big day with confidence by offering maternity and parenting classes.

If you are pressed for time or prefer to learn at your own pace in the comfort of your home, our online classes can fit your schedule and learning style.

Do you prefer hands-on, live-presentation learning? In-person childbirth and parenting classes are held at our labor and delivery center several times each month. To accommodate working parents, classes are scheduled in the evenings and on Saturdays. Our maternity classes cover a wide range of topics, including childbirth education, to help you prepare for labor and delivery.

Hospital tour

To familiarize yourself with the center and our services, we encourage you to schedule a labor, delivery and postpartum tour. Not only will you have a chance to see the birthing suites, you’ll also be able to ask questions to help you develop and refine your customized birthing plan.

Neonatal intensive care

Sometimes, babies need a little extra support after birth. This is why many of our hospitals provide the highest level of . Our neonatal doctors and nurses provide gentle, expert care to ill and premature newborns.

If your baby does need to stay in the NICU, our NICU teams are dedicated to family-centered care. We encourage you to continue bonding with your newborn and are here to support you however we can.

Postpartum care

After delivery, our maternity team provides postpartum care throughout your hospital stay. Our goal is to help you learn to care for your new baby and begin a healthy recovery.

Your room will have plenty of space for your baby to room-in with you, but our nurses are available to care for your newborn in our well-baby nursery if you need to rest or care for yourself.

During your postpartum stay, we offer:

  • Advanced infant security system
  • Celebration meal Gourmet meal for two to celebrate your new baby
  • Circumcision education and services
  • Flexible visiting hours for friends and family
  • Hearing tests for newborns
  • Lactation services
  • A sleeper sofa so that your partner can "room in" with you

Postpartum depression treatment

Many women experience the "baby blues" after childbirth, which can last for several days or a couple of weeks. However, some women also develop postpartum depression, which is defined as having symptoms of depression lasting longer than two weeks.

If you think you may have postpartum depression, talk to your OBGYN or midwife about your symptoms and the treatments available. Our MountainStar Healthcare family of hospitals provides behavioral health programs throughout northern Utah so you have many options for care.

Midwifery services

Our hospitals offer midwifery services from certified nurse midwives (CNMs). A CNM can partner with you for a variety of women's health needs, including maternity care. Our CNMs can support you through your pregnancy, labor, delivery and recovery—consulting with an OBGYN when necessary.

Utah Newborn Safe Haven

If you cannot care for your newborn, you can give up custody anonymously at any hospital in Utah, such as a Utah Newborn Safe Haven hospital like ours. Utah Newborn Safe Haven is here to offer compassion and help.
